PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire)

We are all increasingly aware of the benefits of being physically active every day! Regular activity can improve your quality of life. Being active is a fun and healthy habit. Before you embark on any exercise programme however we need to check it is safe for you. In some cases, it may be necessary to check with your GP. The answers to this questionnaire will establish this.

  • If you answered YES to any of the above you MUST talk with your GP before you start becoming more physically active.

  • If you answered NO (honestly) to all seven of the above questions then you can be reasonably sure that you can start becoming more physically active right away; building intensity and regularity gradually.

    If you’re feeling un-well because of a temporary illness (a cold etc) or you are / become pregnant you may want to either delay starting or consult your GP too.

    Once we have the appropriate answers to all of the above questions you are ready to take your next step to becoming more physically active!

    Before we create you a full exercise programme we will carry out a fitness appraisal. This will allow us to determine your basic fitness level, discuss your objectives in line with your preferences & importantly create a benchmark that will enable us to measure your improvement! It will also help to ensure we create a programme that is challenging, results driven and achievable!
