No matter how hard we try to keep our lives “on track” things change and disrupt our plans! Loss, injury, heartbreak, financial troubles. We all experience challenging situations in our lifetime. Here are some simple but effective ways to keep you strong.
THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS
The power is in your hands to choose your direction and how you channel your energy, no matter what your circumstances are. You can CHOOSE to make positive and productive choices, or make negative and destructive choices.
ACCEPT THE SITUATION
Accept a situation without labelling it. Accepting situations rather than being angry means you can think of an effective solution promptly.
FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES
Try and think of all the positive things in your life, even the small things that can help you cope during a difficult time. You cannot always control the bad things to focus on the positives things that you can take control of.
BE PRESENT
We sometimes can’t help thinking about the past and the future, though in stressful times try just to think about the present. Thinking about what could have been different isn’t going to help anybody. Think about the here and now rather than getting lost in your thoughts, this will make decisions easier to make.
TRUST YOURSELF
Trust in your decisions in challenging situations, trust your gut. You need to take you time when making decisions in tricky circumstances to make sure you make the right one. Mistakes may happen but at least you know that was the right decision to make at that time.
CHOOSE FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing the harm done to you or making up with the person who caused the harm. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace.

Life can be difficult, but practising these habits will help you to keep strong when things get hard. If you stress, and panic things won’t get better. It is better to stay calm, grounded and level headed in tricky situations so that you can do what you need to do to cope and deal with the situation.
