Mental Health- We all have it!

This week, 18th – 24th May is Mental Health Awareness Week.  Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, every year Mental Health Awareness Week aims to raise awareness around the stigma of mental health and encourage more people to open up about their thoughts, anxieties and worries.

Whilst mental health is and should always be an important topic, with more people feeling isolated, lonely and insecure due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we think that we need to support each other now and in the post-normal world, more than ever. And Tonic can help…

The Health Benefits of Walking More …

When it comes to walking more or taking part in physical activity, it’s like marmite; you either love it or you hate it. For some, exercise is an essential part of the day. It is great for boosting energy levels and relieving stress. Whereas for others, its a time to fear and constantly put off – even the thought of walking for longer than a few minutes is filled with dread!

May is National Walking Month (thirty-one days dedicated to getting us to move more and sit less), and it is perhaps more important right now than ever. So whether you are a reluctant exerciser or some one who is desperate to get back to the gym – walking more is something you should be doing right now.

Some of us may have adapted to our new workplaces well, however for others it has proven more difficult.

TOP TIPS to HELP “corona-proof” YOUR LIFE

We are all facing extremely uncertain times due to the Coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak. With this uncertainty comes stress, fear and anxiety. However whilst the pandemic is inevitable, instead of worrying and focusing on all of the scary “what-ifs” which drains energy from our bodies now is the time to reprogram. It is time to cultivate a positive mindset.  It is time to be proactive in optimising our health & building our immune system in order to try to “corona-proof” our lives.

Why Walking More is a Basic Requirement for Good Health

Let’s all think about how often we spend walking everyday? We walk up stairs, we walk to our cars, we walk through doors and we walk to get or pick something up. Therefore for many of us, walking is a simple activity we do frequently everyday, without even thinking about it. Now think how you feel about walking as a form of exercise…
